"Confetti" - Bone, Wood and Cotton - Handmade Chaplet - Inspired by Teilhard de Chardin and Pope John XXIII
"Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God."
—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
For Good Pope John — Angelo Guiseppe Roncalli, Saint John XXIII
The Yalalag cross of this festive chaplet is solid bronze, hand-cast from an antique original.
The Pater bead is carved wood, set between vibrantly colored rings of durable, high-fired Greek ceramic and beads of brass. The tufts are knotted French cotton, in russet and red.
The oval Aves beads are bone — nice and smooth to the touch. Antique red Venetian Murano glass separates the Aves — uncirculated stock from the Societa Veneziana Conterie of Murano from the early 1900s. These little red beads are known as "white-hearts" because the outer red glass surrounds a pure white center. Interspersed among these are small beads of matte glass.
