This cross brings to mind those ancient, immense, stone crosses — the Celtic High Crosses — that stand today, as they've stood for centuries, out in the open air. The surfaces of those crosses, originally deeply carved with figures, Biblical scenes, knotwork and spirals, are now much weathered, in places worn smooth; but they've lost none of their power to inspire.

This pendant is quite substantial. The cross is first cast of lead-free pewter, then coated with copper, dipped in silver, and oxidized.

The soft deerskin is deep chocolate brown, rustic and very supple, cut by hand in the American northwest. Knot it where you prefer, to adjust the length of the necklace to your liking.
