How To Care For Your Prayer Beads

We mingle antique and vintage beads with beads that are newly-made. Our beads are wonderful, but they're not indestructible — exercise reasonable prudence:

Care for your prayer beads in the same way you would care for a piece of high quality jewelry. Don't ball them up. Keep them dry. Keep them out of intense heat. Take care not to drop them. If you carry them with you, it's a good idea to keep them in a pouch.

To clean the beads, use a soft cloth or soft brush. Water or soap may damage some beads.

Metal pieces will naturally darken — how this natural patina develops depends on the conditions of the atmosphere. To brighten metal pieces, lightly buff them from time to time to shine the high points — for this, we highly recommend using a Sunshine Polishing Cloth.

Unfinished wood beads benefit from an occasional application of oil, just like wooden salad bowls do. Mineral oil works well.
