Flourishing Garden
variation v.

Carved Bone and Bronze
Handmade Chaplet

"We are not on earth to guard a museum, but to cultivate a flourishing garden of life."
  -- Pope John XXIII

Two charming wild flowers bloom at the base of the cross.  On the arms of the cross are the letters "IC XC," an ancient abbreviation for "Jesus Christ" -- the abbreviation derives from the first and last letters of the Greek word IHCOYC, meaning "Jesus," and the word XPICTOC, meaning "Christ."   The cross is solid bronze, hand-cast from an 18th century Russian original.

The ten prayer beads are simple little flowers, carved of bone, each one unique.  Among these are beads of matte glass in a variety of muted colors, and beads of solid brass.

The connecting rings are solid bronze.  The chaplet is strung on premium quality Soft Flex jewelers' cable, composed of 49 strands of steel encased in nylon, with a test strength of 26 pounds;  each end is double-crimped for security.

Cross:  1.75" (45mm) including the loop
Ave beads:  about 11mm side to side, 14mm corner to corner
Length:  6.75"
