Path of St. James
Carved Stone and Bronze
Handmade Chaplet

The Way of Saint James is a vast, ancient network of pilgrims’ footpaths that converges in Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain.  According to legend, this is the burial place of St. James the Apostle.  Along the paths, the route is marked with scallop shells -- the symbol of Saint James.

The stone Pater bead of this chaplet is carved in the shape of a shell.  It's leopardskin jasper -- please see detail photo, below.  Alongside the Pater are disks of black onyx.

The multi-colored Aves are silverleaf jasper...  Among these are beads of matte glass in various dark olives, and beads of solid brass.

The crucifix is solid bronze, hand-cast from an antique -- please see detail photo, below.

The connecting rings are all bronze.  The chaplet is strung on premium quality Soft Flex jewelers' cable, composed of 49 strands of steel encased in nylon, with a test strength of 26 pounds;  each end is double-crimped for security.

Crucifix:  1.8"
Pater:  about 18mm
Aves:  8mm
Length:  6.75"

$140. (Sold. For a similar chaplet, please inquire.)
