Lavastone and Bronze
Handmade Rosary

Lent rosary, handmade of bronze, Greek ceramic, and lava stone, by Still Stone and Moss, Prayer Bead Art, full view

"There is not, never has been,
and never will be a single human being
for whom Christ did not suffer."

--  Catechism of the Catholic Church, 605

We had the Lenten journey in mind when we made this rosary.

The bronzy Paters are flecked with verdigris.  They're set among chips of mottled old-golds and berry-purples...

The Aves are lavastone, with natural pits and pocks formed as the molten stone cooled.  Among these are beads of strong purples, blues and sage greens...

The openwork Coptic cross is hand-cast from a 19th century Ethiopian antique...

Wildflowers handmade carnelian rosary, by Still Stone and Moss, Prayer Bead Art, full view

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."   -- Matthew 6:28-29

Inspired by the intense colors of Autumn wildflowers in New England...

The wooden Paters of this rosary are splendid old vintage beads -- hand-carved saucers, wonderfully varied in shape and size.

The stone Ave beads are carnelian, the color of dark honey -- unexpectly mingled with intense purples, olives, and deep blues!
