This chaplet commemorates the fire Saint Brigid kept alight in the monastery of Kildare, tended over the centuries by the Sisters of St. Brigid, and burning today at Solas Bhríde under the care of the Brigidine nuns.

The cross of this chaplet is embellished with shamrocks.  The Pater bead is vintage Murano millefiore glass, in the exuberant colors and patterns for which Murano glass is so well known, and the Aves are smooth bone.  Throughout the strand are beads of red glass -- antique Venetian white hearts -- for the flame.

This charming chaplet is made with very rare, cobalt-blue Murano glass beads.  

The pattern of the beads calls to mind the Holy Eucharist within a monstrance!  On each bead, a central white dot is surrounded by a fine pattern of red, and radiant flares of white. The pattern runs entirely through the beads.

The botonée cross of the chaplet is highly textured with raised knobs.   It's solid bronze, cast by hand from a 19th century Coptic antique.

This crucifix is designed with the full aureole -- the radiance surrounding the entire figure of Jesus.

Several of the druzy quartz prayer beads have cracks or openings revealing crystals in the interior of the rock -- crystals which were only able to form thanks to breaks in the stone.

The beads are titanium-coated, which gives them their highly unusual colors.
